Can you believe it? There really is such a thing! How do you feel about procrastination? Does it frustrate you? Do you feel weight from things left undone? Does it affect your self-image or make you feel “less than?”

You may not expect a professional organizer to say this, but I do believe there is a place for procrastination! We obviously cannot do everything at once. Some things have to be left for another day.

The trick, then, is to plan your procrastination. This really is prioritizing. It’s choosing what for you is important versus dealing with things only as they become urgent.

May I suggest celebrating this week by choosing one thing that you really have been procrastinating and getting it done. Select a task that will take less than 30 minutes and that you can do without much expense. Schedule that 30 minutes into the next three days and keep your appointment with yourself! Then, celebrate the progress!

I’d love to hear what you choose, how you make it work and how you feel when you finish! Comment here or email me at laura@harmonywithin.com.

What would you do with it? The average American spends 55 minutes a day looking for “things” they can’t immediately put their hands on. That is nearly 7 hours a week–over 350 hours a year!

Taking the time to organize your spaces, your systems, your paper and your calendar will pay off exponentially. Give yourself that gift. Commit. Decide to decide. Purposely move forward with the intention of bringing simplicity into your life on many levels!

What would you do with your extra hour a day? I would love to know! And, I would love to help.

If you can manage your time, much of the rest of getting organized becomes easier!

February is National Time Management Month. We frequently find ourselves pulled in different directions by our jobs, families, and friends, all while trying to pencil in a little downtime for ourselves. Many people succumb to the hustle and bustle of their busy schedules, but this is the month to change all that.

Get into the habit of prioritizing your tasks for the week. Sort them by type of task or the life-category they fit in.  Try looking at your tasks, chores, and obligations individually, instead of as one big mess. When you have your tasks listed, make sure you actually schedule them into your days so there is time planned to deal with them.
